Mercedes-Benz Cork fashion week

Last Saturday I attended the Mercedes Benz Cork Fashion week which promised to showcase the best of cork fashion, and boy did it deliver on the night. We were treated to the best of fashion with collections from independent Cork boutiques, such as,  Vanilla, Blush Boutique, Verso, Jon Clare, Miss Daisy Blue, Isabella Ru, Parfois, Dunnes, Opera Lane Stores, Phoenix V, & Rococco. Along with Irish Designers  Valerie O’ Shea, Hazel Comyn, Elizabeth Christina Design, Caroline Matthews & Heidi Higgins. The collections were breath-taking and the looks which were styled by Natasha Crowley and Sarah Crowley, had me scouring the streets of opera lane and some local boutiques all this week!! My bank balance cant cope!
Directors Vivienne and Emer of Mercedes-Benz Cork Fashion Week with Menswear Stylist Finbarr Hurley. These are two of the most hardest working, talented, ambitious women I have met in Cork. The awareness and platforms they have created for Irish Designers and boutiques is absolutely remarkable, because of these two beautiful, smart ladies Cork Fashion Week would never have existed, so thank you ladies. The Venue was Mercedes-Benz, Little Island, Cork which was revamped and converted into stylish fashion venue and runway that would be the envy of any New York, Paris, Milan Fashion show!
With a red Carpet on arrival, on entering we were greeted with DJ Stevie G on the decks! The style and glamour was amazing, these Cork ladies know how to dress!

The talented Michael Doyle from Peter Mark opened the show with a Fantasy Hair collection that was spectacular and remarkable !! An opening that set the tone on how the rest of the show and night played out!
It was an amazing celebration of all the vibrant and unique fashion there is available from all the Cork boutiques and Local Designers.

This beautiful Jumpsuit was from Dunnes Stores (savida range)
Looks from Dunnes Stores
Beautiful Looks from A selection of stores in Opera Lane, I love this place as it has so many fabulous high street stores all in one place..its my go to area when shopping in the city.
Gorgeous accessories from Parfois. Adore Parfois they always have the best accessories. We were given a beautiful gift of an earring on the night from them, with the matching pair to be collected in their Parfois store, Mahon Point.
This beautiful dress and one of my favourites on the runway is from Pheonix-V Cork
Another amazing piece from  Phoenix V Cork check them out  here
Beautiful pieces as always from Vanilla Boutique
Adored this tulle skirt from Blush Boutique Cork, too many amazing looks to choose from.
And now to some of the Irish Designers.
All three pics above are from a beautiful designer Caroline Matthews, who also won designer of the year for Cork Fashion Week. I fell in love with her collection, it was divine, stylish & edgy !! Loved every piece and even what the designer herself wore...definitely one to watch and she also featured her collection at New York Fashion week! If you want to see more log on here.
Caroline pictured above, speaking with Emer about the collection.

Next three pictures are from Hazel Comyn, she also launched her contemporary bridal wear collection on the night. I have been a long term fan of Hazels work, I was lucky enough to purchase one of her Tulle Skirts after seeing her collection last year. This skirt is the most coveted thing in my wardrobe! Hazels bridal gowns were just beautiful, I particular love the last pic, the flow and movement of her dresses are just beautiful. Check her out here.
And finally the Guest of Honour Heidi Higgins, Heidi' s collection closed out the show on the night and as always it was outstanding.

Myself and Emer before the show kicked off..(On top of Organising and Directing Fashion Week, Emer also has her successful own blog Irish Fashaholic

With the lovely Cork bloggers Marie from Beautiful Things, and Ann Marie Amaries-Fashion-Tips

The night was so much fun, full of fashion, with lots of catch ups. Big kudos to Emer and Vivienne, who without them and their fabulous team of stylists, Models and all who worked behind the scenes, none of this would have been possible. So thank you for a wonderful night!
